Project – Parsons Waterline Replacement
Parsons Waterline Replacement
The City of Parsons, TN, operates their own water treatment and distribution system. The pumps at the treatment plant provide system pressure and fill an elevated tank. This project included the installation of two pressure control valves between the plant and the water tank to ensure the tank stays full and the system pressure stays consistent. The project included the installation of 2,000’ of 8” water main that was primarily HDPE with a little bit of PVC as well. ABES Contracting also connected to an existing HDPE pipe that was previously bored under a creek by another contractor.
ABES Contracting worked closely with the designer and owner to navigate several changes to the scope as the existing water lines were not where the records indicated. This flexibility and team approach helped keep the project on track and ensured that the project still achieved the desired objective. ABES worked closely with the control valve vendor to ensure the pressure control valves were properly calibrated and regulated the system pressure as intended.
