ABES Contracting Vice President Brad Davis, Project Manager Bryan Fitzhugh, and ABES Contracting President Emmanuel Tuombe

ABES Contracting is pleased to welcome Bryan Fitzhugh to its growing team.

Fitzhugh, a Marine veteran, joined ABES Contracting in March as its newest Project Manager. In his role, Fitzhugh provides both administrative and hands-on project management of ongoing and future projects, ensuring that all work meets the highest level of quality.

“Bryan is a great addition to our growing ABES Contracting team,” says President Emmanuel Tuombe. “He has a lot of relevant experience in the construction industry and is poised to help us continue our growth. I think we’re a perfect fit for him, and I hope that we can help him advance in his career.”

ABES Contracting Vice President Brad Davis says that Fitzhugh’s experience, expertise, and attitude made him an excellent choice for the company. “He’s joining us at a time of rapid growth, and we’re excited for him to help us continue to manage a wide array of projects.”

Fitzhugh grew up in Arkansas, entering the U.S. Marine Corp after graduating from high school in 2011. After leaving the military in 2015, Fitzhugh lived and worked around the country. He worked in the telecommunications industry for nearly a decade, doing structural modification on cell towers.

Eventually, Fitzhugh left the telecom industry and began working in general contracting, serving as a project manager with companies such as Nabholz Corporation, a national commercial contractor based in Arkansas.

Fitzhugh says joining ABES Contracting has been a very positive experience, and he appreciates the teambuilding emphasis at the company. “It’s an amazing environment. Everyone is so willing to help,” he says. “I really appreciate the vibe here.”

Fitzhugh jumped right into management of several ongoing ABES Contracting projects, including renovations at Big Hill Pond State Park and work at the Memphis International Airport for the Terminal Modernization and Seismic Program (TMSP). “I’ve been busy and that’s good. With a position like this, there’s always something to do. And I like that. It suits me.”

When Fitzhugh isn’t working, he spends time with his three children – 9-year-old Kayden, 8-year-old Brody, and 7-year-old Amberlyn. As a single dad, he keeps busy and ensures that his kids always have home-cooked meals. “I love to cook. My dream job would be to have my own food truck,” he says. From homemade sauces and marinades to his signature “authentic” tacos, Fitzhugh is a self-taught chef, learning from recipes and watching others. “If I watch someone make something once, I can pretty much recreate it myself.”

In addition to cooking and spending time with his kids, Fitzhugh is also learning to play the acoustic guitar. “I like to stay busy. At one time in my life I was going to college, working, and serving on a volunteer fire department. I have a lot of energy.”

Both Tuombe and Davis are glad to have Fitzhugh’s “energy” on the ABES Contracting team. “We’ve built a great team of professionals who work well together and lean into our company values of ‘Perform as a Team,’ ‘Communicate Effectively’ and ‘Exceed Client Expectations,’ “ says Davis. “I think Bryan brings a lot to that team, and I look forward to working with him on projects, both big and small.”
